Warning!
Click out of this post right now.
What you’ll find here is a short description of something that happened last week that had me and my husband in hysterics.
I considered not running it: for dignity, appropriateness, and maturity reasons, yadda yadda.
It’s along the lines of the post I ran a few months back featuring some rather lusty lawn ornaments and other images my kids’ viewed very innocently Or the post about when my 3 year old accidentally wandered into a local S&M Shop. Our kids don’t see things the way we see them. They are too uncontaminated.
You’ve Been Warned.
The Inappropriateness Caveat Has Officially Closed.
And here it is, folks!
My pre-schooler woke me up one morning.
Groggily, I said, “Did you see you have paper on your easel now?”
“Yeah!” she said. ”I already drew a picture! I can’t wait to show you! Come on!”
She dragged me out of bed.
She had propped a large sheet of paper in front of her picture.
Her creation warranted an “unveil”.
“It’s a surprise!!!” she said.
It was a surprise, alright.
“IT’S A MUSHROOM!!!!!”

For anyone who is offended, don’t worry, I’ll be blogging about cake pops and play dough any minute now.

You and your blog are absolutely filthy and disgusting. I’ll be back for sure
haha!
Hahahaha! Thanks! Hopefully, the crafting ladies don’t boot me from the group for fear of association. hahahaha!
That’s. Classic.
Hahaha! Tyuana- what’s your blog URL again? I can’t find it in my reader! Thanks for the comment!
Hiya…it’s thefuzziechronicles.blogspot.com…but I warn you…it’s sad today. So I was SO ready for the tickle your blog gave me.
PS…I ink you should frame that mushroom…imagine how much fun you could have with visitors!!!!
Tyuana- I’m sorry to hear that. I’ll be over to check it out tonight. I’m glad it gave you some relief. I’ve considered saving it….haha!
Tuyana- You were right. It was a sad post on your blog and I’m so sorry. I hope your heart heals and you find happiness again.
Thank you so much for reading it..and for your comment. Healing is a long process, so it helps to stay focused on the positive things…good friends, good families, and just feeling connected. Even when it’s connected hiLARious bloggers who are sharing Adventures in Parenting!
Tyuana- Well, I know what you mean. There is something about a group of women who have never met each other that can still seem close- maybe it’s the shared passion for writing and creating- and the willingness to follow another’s story- I hope that you’re healing is going well…..
I agree with dad… she may need to find another art teacher!
Her art teacher is awesome. I think I need to stop teaching her about the difference between fungi and plants. She’s fascinated by mushrooms and loves to eat them. hahahaha!
Love it!
Of course, my judgement my be slightly impaired. My bedroom wall is adorned by a picture of our family drawn by my 4-year-old son. It includes “Mummy’s lumps” and “Daddy’s penis”.
Jo- I wish I could see that picture! haha!
Guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I knew right away it was a mushroom – penises don’t wear a vest with a belt, silly.
Haha! You’re more artsy than me. I was like, “Why is my daughter drawing a >>>>>????” I should have given her the benefit of the doubt, of course. Lesson Learned.
The child has talent, that’s obvious. I side with the comments of Nami. Or. She has already realized the power of shock value in art. An takes great delight in watching you squirm.
I really like that perspective, Hudson- She did it to shock us. Well, I would say she was successful. haha!
OMG…how funny!!!! and yes, kids tend to do that, hubby and I find ourselves cracking up in hysterics because our girls say innocently things we pick up as well not so much!
Priscilla, yes we do- We are really the guilty ones. haha!
Haha! She’s a wonderful artist! My best friend has a little girl that has a notebook of drawings absolutely full of.. mushrooms. It’s hilarious.
It’s funny- It really does look like a mushroom if you look at it with the right eyes! I hope your friend keeps that notebook, Joyce!
Oh My! I’ve had some strange drawings before like this but on our wall in the hallway!
That’ s funny, Melissa! I figured many people do!
I have to tell you, I find this post really offensive. I’ll probably unsubscribe.
Bridget- haha! You are so funny!!!! I’ll have to message you something funny after I comment here….
Oh man, WAY too funny.
Brooke- I’m so glad! I seriously agonized over whether or not I should post it- but, I finally realized, that it’s just a mushroom, for goodness sake! Thanks for not disowning me. haha!
Waaaaaaaaah!!! I have to keep my eye out for “these” drawn pictures then from my 2 kiddos.. So funny, I could actually clearly imagine you thinking this “Why is my daughter drawing a >>>>>????” Hahaha! Happy weekend!
hahahaha, Ava! YOU HAVE NO IDEA. hahahahaha!
That is funny! And it looks incredibly like the picture.
Your daughter really has talent and should be encouraged to continue drawing and creating.
Great post, c&c!
Thanks, Mike- Even though the pic concerned me for a second, I was so impressed that she had a vision and could really bring it to life. We actually do study mushrooms when we cook a lot of our Asian dishes. Thanks for the comment, Mike!
Haha! Good laugh
You should probably keep this for one day 25 years or so from now when your daughter will get a good laugh out of it herself!!
Oh, I’m keeping it, Sara!!!! I think it will come in handy during the birds and the bees talk in a few years. hahaha!
Oh, Amber. I have to admit. I was hesitant to post in the sharing thread because I thought all you wholesome child-centered craft bloggers would leave me for it. hahahahaha!
Haha thanks for sharing!
Oops! I meant to reply directly to you here, Amber! Thanks for the comment!
I just peed my pants!
Oh, Aimee! I’m sorry! hahaha! I almost did, too, when I saw it, now that I think about it.
Love it. My daughter used to draw her people with arms and legs coming out of the head and then in between the legs she would draw a chin. It didn’t look very appropriate. ha ha.
Laura- I would pay to see that picture. haha! Maybe we should run a post for other kids’ questionable pics. haha! Thanks for the note….
HAHAHAHAHAAAH! So awesome. I should find the drawing my daughter did of a lady wearing a shirt with front chest pockets and (ahem) buttons…. (*snickers*) Who needs TV?
Desi- Yes, you should!!!!! So many parents have confessed to finding similar renditions around the house- If I could just get them all together….
Sure you will…what will the cake pops look like?!
LOLOLOL, and HEY wait a minute! I don’t think you needed to kick out the pure of heart (or mind) because they only would have seen a mushroom right?
Oh, Mushroom Cake Pops! You’re brilliant, Alissa!!!!!!!!!! You’re right about not kicking anyone out. But, seriously, I was a little concerned about posting it. People that don’t read my blog or who haven’t read past posts might be liable to see that picture and report me. haha!
Ha ha ha this is hilarious. So naughty
Lynley, Haha! I know it looks that way, doesn’t it? But, it’s totally innocent!
Actually, that’s a great drawing. My three years old boy adopts his angry phase when drawing. He either breaks the paper or the crayon. I think your toddler has a future as a scientist or an artist.
Gustavo- I thought so, too- I would be pleased with our daughter either way- I hope she loves art and science. Thanks for checking it out!
